BIO

David Chistopher Kaufman makes for an unlikely Zionist. The son of a Jewish mother and African-American father, Kaufman was born and raised in San Francisco -- educated at both Brandeis and New York Universities — and has spent the majority of his media career in New York City. But it is in Israel that he has always felt most at home — and the attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7th, 2023 turned Kaufman into an unexpected activist across both traditional and social media. From his base as an editor and columnist at the New York Post, Kaufman — a proud Gay dad of twin sons — has been a staunch advocate for Israel's right to defend itself against Hamas hostility as well as for an end to the tide of anti semitism now coursing across the globe. Along with writing for the New York Post, Kaufman regularly contributes pieces on global politics, culture, business and social affairs to AirMail, The Telegraph, The Forward, Tablet and Haaretz. He is also a frequent on-air contributor to I24 News in Israel. Along with working at the New York Post, Kaufman has held staff positions at The New York Times, Quartz and Architectural Digest, where he served as their Global Digital Director. He is co-author of the 2019 book "PRIDE: 50 Years of Parades and Protest" from Abrams Books and Kaufman is currently working on a book about how the attacks of October 7th both changed his life and the world as we know it.
